Fear of Failure
Margaret Paul, Ph.D.
In order to achieve success in any area of your life, you need to redefine failure. Instead of seeing failure as an indication of your inadequacy or lack of worth, you need to see failure as a stepping-stone to success. Some of the most financially successful people experienced repeated failures.

Four Sources of Discontent
Julie Fuimano, MBA, BSN, RN, CSAC
There is a pervasive discontent in our society today. We seem to be suffering from an epidemic of unhappiness. Why do some of us seem to constantly be looking for something that we simply never quite seem to catch up to? What causes this discontent and how can we overcome it?
Most people instinctively know what leadership is. In all of the surveys that have been done in this area people usually define leadership as either "responsibility" or "accountability." There is a huge difference between these two terms.
You will always face choices in life and those choices can be negative or positive, depending on how you view life. You may opt to have a pessimist's view and live a self-defeated life or you may decide to take the optimist's route and live a challenging and fulfilling life.

AUGUST MUSINGS
For women, first year income expectations after graduation is much lower than males. Fifty-one percent (51%) of women expect to earn $30K or less and only 12% expect to earn more than $50K. Twenty-nine percent (29%) of male graduates expect to earn over $50K, while only 35% expect to earn less than $30K.
According to the American Association of University Women Educational Foundation, the gender gap for income begins one-year after college graduation. By then women are only earning 80% of a male counterpart’s salary. After 10 years the gap widens even further: 69% as compared to male counterparts. Even though scholastic achievement is slightly higher in every major course of study including science and math, a woman’s educational dedication is not reflected in her compensation.
You would expect this trend to change over the years as many more women are graduating from college than men. Eventually, more women will be company execs and decision-makers (including politics) and a balance in pay equity should be achieved.
