For years now, you have been waiting patiently for that first opportunity to be put in charge of a group and show what you can do. It has finally happened. You are giddy with excitement and your head is full of ideas. You can't wait to implement, create change, and leave your mark. Before you charge up the hill, possibly leaving everybody else behind, there's something that you really need to handle first.
Larry Tobin
Its very name is appealing - comfort food. What could be more wonderful than a food that helps us feel better? Almost everyone can name something that they eat when they're just feeling sour or sad. Chinese take-out, chocolate cake, raspberry ice cream, banana pancakes and many others make the list. Of course, we know that food can't be the solution to our problems, especially the problem of trying to lose weight and keep it off. So why do we find ourselves trapped in the eat/feel better/feel worse/eat some more cycle?
Gary M. Miller
Most people don't believe that their lives are the result of their own actions. They see themselves as victims, having been accidentally thrown into a life that they didn't choose. Does this attitude sound familiar to you? It should sound familiar because it is an extremely common attitude and probably makes up the majority of the way people think. For you, however, it doesn't have to be this way. There is another way to think and it is called optimism.
Alan Fairweather
Many business people and managers are spending too much time trying to change the underperforming people who work for them. They seem to believe that if they train people - tell them what to do or even threaten them with the sack - then the performance level will go up. The successful manager concentrates on developing the strengths of his team members - not trying to correct their weaknesses. Sometimes you have to manage around a weakness, but you can't make people what they're not.

Ever wondered how well your Yahoo Search Marketing advertising is converting? If you're spending money on any type of pay-per-click marketing, it just makes sense to track how many of your visitors are turning into customers. If you don't know, you're just throwing money away.
MaryAnn Shank
"Network marketing" used to be a dirty word. It used to mean MLM; not so any more. "Network marketing" is a whole new game. It is a dynamic way of building an Internet business with multiple streams of income. For example, let's take a basic online store. Perhaps a book store specializing in romance novels. Doesn't sound too profitable, does it? Let's see what this store can do.
Lawren Smith
Search engines have advanced, as well as the search engine optimization (SEO) industry. In order to compete with Google's army of PhD researchers, search engine optimizers struggle to keep up with the latest theories and conjecture about how the carefully-guarded and always ever-changing search engine algorithms work.
Louise Yates
To make the most of business networking as a marketing strategy for your business it's important to master the art of generating referrals. Before I go further into picking the right time to ask for referrals let me make these points: referrals do not come on a plate and do not come immediately. It's important when thinking about networking as part of your marketing strategy to be patient. Get to know, like and trust your fellow networking colleagues. Then the referrals will start to flow naturally.

Whether you're an introvert or an extrovert, you probably have an unthinking tendency to market to people the way you prefer to be communicated with and treated. If your target audience resembles you, that approach succeeds. But if your target audience differs greatly from you, you're shooting yourself in the foot when you do that. Worse, unless you've investigated or learned about the preferences of those with a different personality, you may not realize the extent of this disconnect.
Jamie Lee
Several factors are integral in determining your advertising campaign success and conversion rates. A good frame work to assess your campaign would be to base it on the 40-40-20 rule. The 40-40-20 dictum is that 40 percent of your marketing success is dependent on your ability to target your audience, another 40 percent is dependent on your value proposition, and the last 20 percent is reserved for everything else, including creatives.
Bill Platt
Many online business owners want to make the process of developing a successful online business harder than it needs to be. The truth is that a simple 4-step checklist can lead anyone to online profits:
1. Create or Tweak your Offers;
2. Get Traffic -- Attract Targeted Visitors;
3. Analyze Results; and
4. Repeat Steps 1-3.
Marty Bradfield

There is one factor above all others that will determine your ability to be successful on the Internet. That one factor is your ability to create, develop, and maintain good relationships with other people.

Actually what he said was this: "Until you have products you what I consider a have a successful practice...nothing wrong with a successful practice...but you do not have a business."

Failing to get the word out about an upcoming event may forfeit dozens of opportunities. By the time you realize you might not make your goal for the month, quarter, or year, it may already be too late. Finding tasks on your to-do list week after week is a clear sign you are procrastinating, but it's not always this obvious.
Harald Anderson
Walt Disney coined a special phrase for persistence and determination. He referred to it as stick-to-itivity. I reflected upon this recently, because I stumbled across 20 old business cards from previous business ventures and jobs I had been associated with over the last 25 years. Those old business cards certainly brought back a museum full of memories and mixed feelings. As I look back on all of those opportunities with the benefit of perspective and age, the one benefit I have derived is my own personal understanding of the concept of success and failure.
Eve Delunas, Ph.D.
Life has a way of challenging us with the unexpected. No matter how hard we try to control life's circumstances, these unforeseen difficulties sneak up on us just when everything seems to be going smoothly. Your psychological default mode -- that is, your typical reaction or response to life's unpleasant complications -- can either contribute to or detract from your level of success. It can also directly affect your mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
