Back in the days when newsletters first hit the Internet, they were usually published in text format because many email clients did not support HTML email just yet. One of the problems many publishers faced was long URL's being split in half and not being clickable to the reader. To solve this problem, shortening services started to spring up that would take a long URL and cut it down to a reasonable size. With the popularity of Twitter and the confines of 140 characters, URL (link) shortening services are in high demand once again. When you have such a small amount of space to work with, no one wants a long URL cutting into that precious real estate.
What to Do When Your Computer Does Not Shut Down
Logan Albright
This problem of a computer not shutting down is actually more common than you might think. The solution to this problem is in fact pretty simple. The more common symptoms faced by most users are that after a user clicks on the ‘shutdown’ button, the computer seems to be in a state of stasis and instead of shutting down, there is constant disk activity. Some people experience the “blue screen of death”. If this is happening to you on almost a weekly basis then this article will definitely help you out.Logan Albright
I do computer repair in the Houston, Texas area. I often get questions on MSCONFIG in Windows XP. Usually about a startup program or how to disable startup programs on their system. MSCONFIG is short for Microsoft System Configuration Utility. It was designed to help troubleshoot system configuration issues, not control what programs automatically startup when Windows XP boots up.
New Search Engines - Can Anyone Beat Google?
Titus Hoskins
Can any new search engine beat Google? Probably not, mainly because it is the dominant search engine with around 72 percent of U.S. online searches and its percentages are much higher in other parts of the world. However, there are some serious new competitors that may just take a bite out of Google's rosy search numbers. Never know, one or several of them, may just give Google a run for those all important search engine dollars.Titus Hoskins

URL shortening services (bit.ly, tinyurl, su.pr, aafter.com, goo.gl) are the boons of latest technology; especially for twitting or online marketing.
