In business, there is a question that no sane person wants to hear: “Could you write me a proposal?” Proposals are traps, ways to build up and break down dreams. Sound dramatic? It’s not. In many cases, writing a proposal is a waste of your time and effort.
Many of the joint ventures that I turn down and many of the clients that I reject are for the same reason. Their websites are so poorly written that I know the websites won't convert. I rarely do outside copywriting but I often suggest revamping their websites before they move forward. With the sites reviewed on my calls and with the sites I look at for other reasons, I notice many of the same mistakes. Here are 12 of the most common.
First, stop hiring yourself by continually working "in" your business. Don't be an employee of your company, reserve the choice to be the president of your company. Second, stop hiring yourself through your employees. Business owners tend to hire people like themselves instead of people that have the strengths they require for that position.
I think that a lot of business owners, especially home based businesses, need to learn how to do better is to improve productivity. Being productive is the key difference between working 30 hours a week and making money or "working" 70 hours a week and barely getting by. Here are a few tips on how to increase your productivity.
